Pain-Free Dentistry Is Here
Long gone are days of staggering away from the dentist chair vowing never to return. There was no fun in leaving the dentist in more pain than when you entered. The irony of lollipop did not offer much comfort either.
Fortunately, that scenario is a thing of the past. Now, techniques, technologies and materials have all progressed and have taken us to where we are now. The era of Pain Free Dentistry.
As well as Local Anaesthetic and Nitrous Oxide options that are effective enough against 80% of our treatments, we are also able to use ‘Conscious Sedation’. Conscious Sedation essentially means you go to ‘sleep’ whilst still being awake. This is a safe technique and throughout the procedure you are constantly monitored.
Better than anaesthetic is that we now utilise lasers in a great number of treatments. Lasers may be used in a number of oral treatments, including
- The removal of decay
- Fluoride Treatment
- Root Canal Sterilisation
- Gum Disease Treatments
- Tooth Whitening
- Surgical Procedures
Lasers may also be utilised to sterilise teeth, increasing patient comfort. In addition, its general benefits are that bleeding may be reduced, swelling may be controlled and postoperative discomfort may be limited.
So if you are worried about visiting the dentist you probably shouldn’t. We’ve removed pain out of the situation.
Another Set of New Year Resolutions

At the year’s end it is common for the more resourceful of us to get a pen and paper and write down some resolutions that will guide our behaviour for the following year. Sometimes its to go on a nice holiday or maybe to lose weight. Both good, worthy resolutions to make.
Well, I have 3 New Year’s Resolutions to add to your already long list that will keep you feeling healthy and happy.
1. Visit Your Dentist For A Check-up
This is something you need to do if you haven’t done so for a while. We know life is frantic and busy and there isn’t much time. However, little things such as tooth decay, gum disease and cracks in teeth don’t respect schedules and can lead to bigger problems if left untreated.
2. Must Have a Great Smile By My Birthday
You are a beautiful, gorgeous, handsome, stunning individual, but for some reason you are not 100% happy with your smile. This is easily fixed after a consultation. A spot of Laser Tooth Whitening will have you looking like a movie star in one hour.
3. Quit Smoking
This one appears on many people’s lists each and every year, but this year you should actually do it. Did you know that quitting smoking is one of the best things you can do to improve your dental health. The yellowing properties of nicotine don’t help your white teeth. The smoke doesn’t do wonders for your breath. The lines around your mouth from puffing are not helping either. Don’t lose your ability to flash that awesome smile.
If you keep these resolutions for the year I can assure you will be happier and healthier.
