How Can I Protect My Teeth From Further Decay

How do sealants work? An ultra-thin coat of plastic material is applied onto the biting surface of any affected teeth you may have. The coating, or the sealant as it is called, creates a barrier between your teeth and any bacteria that is trying to attack the tooth.

Sealants are most effective in reducing cavities in children with newly formed permanent teeth. They are also useful in cutting down formation of decay in adult teeth.
